Bowood 2014 #42

I arrived at Bowood an hour earlier because of the clock change and their changed opening hours, and was surprised to find the car park far more full than normal. This turned out to be because there had been a serious fire in the Estate Office at the weekend and they were offering free admission while the electrics were being restored, so people were taking advantage. Also, it was the dreaded half-term.

I was pleased to find the 20-year old white pony Winnie was with them for the week at Tractor Ted's, but didn't dwell there for too long as it was rather busy. Instead, I wandered among the trees and down to the Lake trying to find a photographic composition. Since the grounds were full of children I thought I might as well make use of them for my blip.

The Dubwood Allstars - Under Dubwood (2012)
It was the 100th anniversary of the birth of Dylan Thomas on 27 October and this track is in honour of this milestone. Richard Burton's reading of the introduction to Under Milk Wood is my favourite thing that he ever did. I think it was recorded for a BBC radio play in 1963. Here it has been gloriously mashed with some dub reggae, specifically John Holt's Ali Baba (1969) and King Tubby's Highjack The Barber (1974).
