The Guildford Arms, Edinburgh

I had lunch today with an old friend from University in the pleasant surroundings of The Guildford Arms. This is a grand old Victorian pub with an ornate wooden bar, decorated ceilings and several superb etched glass windows.
It is at the east end of Princes Street, behind what is now a brand new Apple Store and next to Register House.
I seem to recall that at one time it was a favourite pub of postmen when the GPO was situated nearby.
The pub has a good selection of beers and the food is traditional pub fare.
