Zion Canyon NP #1

Brace yourselves for backblipping of USA holiday photos - but you're lucky its only 1 x photo per day on blip because I have 1000s!

Back in 2002 I literally did a flying visit to Zion and Bryce Canyons on my way out to Australia. I only had a couple of hours in Zion and about 1/2 day in Bryce. The temperature was in the 40s and much, much too hot for any walking. So this year when we decided to do a driving trip in the US they were both at the top of my list for a repeat visit. And neither disappointed!

This was a late evening shot in Zion on the first day we arrived. The sun leaves the canyon really quickly (fleeces came out of back packs) and the light made shooting tricky [need to invent canyon shaped filters], but this shot reminds me of how beautiful Zion was - autumn just touching the leaves of the trees and the sun starting to set.
