Anyone got a Light?

Another day, another audio guide. Amazing how quickly your ear can just switch off from those things. Anyway, today's was Spandau Citadel. Not to be confused with Spandau Prison which was torn down after Herr Hess finally departed. Or with Spandau Ballet.

Then it was on to the Olympic Stadium, 1936 variety, revamped for the World Cup and now home to Hertha Berlin. Pretty impressive it is too, probably even better then Tynecastle. No pies though. Or Bovril. No wonder Hertha aren't doing too well.

After that, the East Side Gallery on the other side of town. A section of the Berlin Wall that's been left in place and seems to be the spray-paint centre of Europe. Even the most iconic graffiti-artists' wall images have now themselves been graffitied. Usually not for the better unfortunately, it's mostly 'Julie loves Derek' or 'Hi Mom!'. Selfies rule!

Onward and upward. To the top of the Reichstag in fact and a view over Berlin by night. I think I prefer the view by day though; certainly the audio-guide would be easier to follow as it points out the skyline's green domes and grey facades!

Finally, met up with S for a wee snack, a beer or two, another snack, another beer. And a blip!!
