Sparrows

Birds find nooks and crannies in your house, sparrows make nests there. They lay their eggs and raise their young, singing their songs in the place where we worship. How blessed they are to live and sing there!

Sparrows is an initiative by the Diocese of Chelmsford to encourage, promote and initiate high-quality childcare in church settings. We started Sparrows a couple of years ago after our research showed that early years occupied more time, space and volunteers than any other church ministry.

This is Jo, our Sparrows guru, heartbeat, helper, guide, mentor and general fixer. We now run 5 childcare settings, support and resource many more, employ 32 childcare staff, plus admin staff, and have about 200 childcare spaces thanks to the expertise, professionalism and passion of people like Jo.
