Diary of an Edinburgher

Afternoon Tea

Popped down to Uncle A to sort out a wee problem with DropBox, but gave up. Though we did eventually import/export a couple of photos. I left a Uncle A with instructions to have another go later when he felt calm. Or book a free session at the 'Genius Bar' in the Apple Shop.

Archie and I continued our bus/walk. On the bus a toddler in push chair came on. A tennis ball fell from the toddler's hand. It rolled down the bus. It rolled up the bus. It zig zagged down the corridor. Archie started barking - he'd never had such fun a bus before. An elderly man thankfully plonked his foot on it before we got too out of hand. We got off a couple of stops earlier than usual, but the driver gave us a cheery smile and wave. Not sure if the passengers did. Didn't look back.

The Meadows were soggy, the day was balmy, but cloudy. We met young couple with a spaniel. The girl and the dog were visiting the boy from London. They were so gorgeous, fresh faced and glossy haired, I really felt like I was another species... However, I burbled on and told them of a few dog walks and dog friendly pubs nearby.

JR and I went for a long-awaited afternoon tea in town. One of those Amazon Local vouchers, thank goodness. I would not like to pay full price for mediocre sandwiches, yesterday's scone, and the day before that's cup cake. Actually, maybe they were today's but they were so dry. I think afternoon teas are overrated. Like cupcakes.

We had a walk up to the Castle. It was nice to wander around like a tourist.

This building has been taken over as a cafe/restaurant by one of the city's most famous foodie families. Fantastic position, right at the Castle.

The bus home arrived at the bus stop at the same time as we did. I love that!
