Tawny Frogmouths
I was out along the river this morning and came across a fellow with a serious looking camera. I stopped for a chat, as you do, and he pointed out this mother and two young Tawny Frogmouths. They are nocturnal birds that get mistaken for owls but they apparently are more closely related to nightjars. LARGE!
My little PowerShot looked rather pathetic compared to Mr Big Lens (and he did make a polite comment accordingly) but I thought the result wasn't too bad considering how high in the tree they were.
Pleased to have the blip done earlier today. :)
