Very Berry

I had to take the old boy to the vet on Monday.

He is very sensitive to Berry Bugs at this time of year.

He gets soooooo itchy and then starts nibbling and licking himself to the point of having raw bald bits that if left can get infected.

It took a few years of visits to vets to get the right diagnosis.

The first few times he had it they didn't have a clue and seemed mystified by his condition.

Then one vet tried to tell me it was fleas, I knew it wasn't.
I know what to look for and I left with a big bill that day, a can of de flea stuff for the house, stuff for Flynn and totally unconvinced by his diagnosis....
But thought well, he's the vet .... He knows what he's talking about.

When we got Ozzy we started to go to another small practice (the waiting room is on a bench outside and his practice is a porta cabin.)
He only charges for the medication required and you don't come out of his practice feeling totally ripped off!

The first time when Flynns itch flared up again I took him along.
Straight away he mentioned the Berry Bug and every thing matched up. The timings of the condition and the description of the reaction to it.

It just amazes me that the large practice didn't manage to diagnose this.

Anyway.... He's stopped itching again and his sores are healing nicely.

Happy dog ..... Happy mum.....

Great vet. :-)
