Day 3 - The reason for the roadtrip

Had a little outing to Asda and the beautiful local park (Riverside Park) this morning, then came back to the hotel to get ready for our friends' wedding at Balbirnie House. It was an absolutely brilliant day and evening - although unfortunately my cold had really got the better of me by the end of the night, and we had to give in and leave about 11pm.

Beri is Egyptian and Ewan is Scottish - so it was a really interesting mix of cultures in both the ceremony and the entertainment afterwards. Beri's brother read an excerpt from the Quran, then gave the English translation. They also did the traditional Scottish acts of hand fasting and drinking from the quaich. Then later there was some fantastic Egyptian drumming and dancing, followed by a ceilidh. Great food, too - and we ended up chatting away with a lovely couple, who ended up being right next to us at our table. A fab day!
