In London
for the VC and GC Association Service of Remembrance at St Martin in the Fields, with the remarkable East window by Shirazeh Houshiary and Pip Horne. With Randle and Manser cousins, on a drizzling day; and with half an hour to enjoy a splendid collection of socialist beards in the William Morris: Anarchy and Beauty exhibition in the National Portrait Gallery across the street.
There are very few living recipients of the VC: it was a privilege to sit behind Willie Apiata.
