Rievaulx Abbey

Arrived at Rievaulx after a spur of the moment change of direction via Fryupdale and Rosedale Abbey. We always wander around the abbey with the English Heritage Commentary ( possibly Miles Juppp) which really evokes the history of the place. It always has a soothing atmosphere in the Autumn as well as an excellent tea- room!

Popped in to Helmsley on the way home as it has an excellent cut price boolshop amongst the usual gifty type shops.
