Going to work

I skied the distance of ~9 km to work because busdrivers are on strike. It would've taken me at least one hour to get to work by walking and train. Skiing might actually be a bit faster. Though it wasn't faster now when I skied the route for the first time and got lost twice on the way:)

A couple of decades ago skiing was a basic form of transportation to school for kids on the countryside during winter. There weren't the machines for making skiing tracks which we have nowadays. The skiers of old times had wider, wooden skis which carried the weight of skier on softish snow.
