Actually, I don't know if this tiny (3mm'ish) native bee is male or female (solitary bees don't have the same female worker foragers as honey bees do) but let's say it is, for the sake of the song.
These bees were shimmering like gold on this red callistemon today – the pollen is a very golden colour and their reddish abdomens helped the allusion. This bee collects the pollen under her 'tummy'. I will look the species up when I have time...
