Norwegian at Cranbrook Road Crossing

Yes, another day down on the railway. Second of 3 days over the half term week. Today was a leisurely shift at Cranbrook Road Crossing. Only one incident of note happened, on the return journey of the last round trip by Norwegian the train was piloted by a diesel. Looked like the steam engine had some problems and had to be assisted up the bank into Tenterden.

Otherwise it was: go out when the approach bell rang; open gates when safe to do so; show green flag; watch for any defects or problems as the train goes by; close gates; go back into the hut; wait 45 minutes for the next train.... Inbetween times, read, listen to the radio, have a brew, bit ot eat, read, sleep.....

We were going to go out with friends Chris and Wendy tonight but Chris was poorly so we had to take a raincheck and find something at home for dinner. Mind you it meant we could go out for a walk, which was unexpected.
