Painted Turtle

I am usually much happier to see the wildlife than the wildlife is to see me! This painted turtle that I found in the yard was not best pleased to be picked up and moved to a location of my choosing in order to have its portrait taken (of course, I put it back where I found it, although it took off at once). It's quite common to find turtles in the yard at this time of year - I think they are looking for somewhere to lay their eggs.
