Amongst the papers, phone calls, compliant discussions, meetings and catch up after the weekend I had a meeting with an Australian judge.

Jennie Bowles and her husband are on a Churchill Fellowship study tour looking at different youth justice systems across the world and had just arrived from a visit to Sweden. Jennie has sat for the past 8 years as a magistrate in a Children's Court in Melbourne. Her particular interest is in therapeutic residential facilities for young people who have serious long-term drug/alcohol/ mental health issues. She was interested to learn more about our children's hearings system.

At the end I was presented with my first official gift - this tea towel which is being recorded on our gift register before being put to good use in the office!
