The snoeshow hare is changing its colors....

I have been keeping an eye on my snowshoe hares --- well I mean the hares that live in my neighborhood, and they are beginning to change their summer coat to their white winter coat. They somehow seem to be aware that they stand out a bit as they make this change.... this one here was hiding under a bush... you can see the white around his/her ears .... but when they stand up ... their whole underside is white now... I will keep my record of the changes! yes by the way that is bits of snow on the ground. I am ignoring it!
