sweet Lightning!

We adopted a 4 month old kitten on Sunday from the Gulf Shore Animal League. They named him Lightning and we decided that was a fine name. He was originally rescued at 3 days old and bottle fed, so he was held a lot. Steven thinks that's why he is so sweet and friendly. A real purr-machine! Bigger.

It has been a long time since we've had a cat, over 5 years ago when we lived in Connecticut. I am so happy to have this beautiful little tiger cat join our family. Actually, I don't think he will stay little for too long! He has large paws and a long body for his age. He is really a good boy and the dogs do not seem out of joint! (We've been giving them extra attention) A little cautious perhaps, but they have lived with cats before. They used to sleep in the same dog bed with our cats, it was quite the sight!

So, we have had to do some "kitty-proofing" but all is well. Only one basil plant toppled into the sink and It's now planted outside! The faucet got turned on by a kitty foot, but at least I was home to turn it off and the distraction has been removed. Lightning seems very happy in his new home. I imagine more photos of him will be featured blips in the near future!
