Different way today

I went on a different route this morning and these all caught my eye. The ferns and walling belong to a large house and I do wonder whether or not the vertical slots are to cool the 'cellar' which is not below ground against the road or for bowmen to pick off locals as they pass! I tend to prefer the latter and so far have been lucky.....

The sheep is in a little orchard again raised up off the lane and there is no fence - I presume that it and the rest of the flock are sensible enough (?) not to try to jump down onto the lane.........

Met a friend in the churchyard and we had a discussion about the state of the property market in general and he tells me that he is considering selling his investment properties as and when the pensions kick in which I suspect will be soon as we are about the same age.

The opinion is that being a private landlord is not what it was due to all the regulations which are a good thing but are taken to extremes when it is not necessary. He has tried to help one of his tenants who is suffering from PTSD and has been in contact with all the relevant people but no one wants to know as it would mean that they would have to pick up the bill.......terrible that our ex service men are treated this way!
