I Know Where I've Been

This evening I photographed Falkirk Bohemians' dress rehearsal of the musical Hairspray at Falkirk Town Hall.

I had a great evening, and have a whole bunch of photographs to sort through. But this was one that jumped out.

This is from Act Two of the show, where the character of "Motormouth Maybelle" sings "I Know Where I've Been" to encourage the kids to take part in a TV programme where they are - to say the least - not welcome.

From a photographic point of view, I've probably left Motormouth a little too warm, but I loved the contrast between the rich, golden spotlight on her and the deep blue lighting on the ensemble, so this is the way I am leaving the picture.

As for the show, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend anyone to go along. But hurry - there are not many seats left, and they are selling rapidly!
