Out of Darkness Comes Light
I really didn't expect to find any snowdrops for several more weeks. So when I saw this on the side of the road, I came to an abrupt halt, threw the car in reverse, hopped out, and knelt down in the glorious mud to get this picture. I heard a squawk, looked up, and saw a red tailed hawk building a nest. Today was also the first day I saw chipmunks; they must be out of hibernation.
I know winter isn't officially over and that we can expect snow at any time in the next six weeks, but after today, I can see that the end of winter is in truly sight. It may sound silly, but this single little snowdrop had me walking on air for the rest of the day.
