Mild for October?

Seems that's all everyone is talking about just now.
'isn't it mild?'
They do have a point though.
My watch said 24 degrees cycling into town this am - ok, that's next to my jacket and gloves, but still, it was warm.
Weird, when we put the clocks to summer time in March, the weather was cold and awful.
Now we put them to winter time it's warm and..well, awful too :-)
