London

Mr HPW and I went to London. Not on a whim, you understand....

It was gorgeous weather, we had to carry our coats as we strolled around. We passed various places of interest to me (possibly not to Mr HPW) including The Old Vic, where my granny used to go to matinees with her pocket money as a teenager, to see young unknown actors like John Geilgud (she loved him). We had lunch at the Imperial War Museum and marvelled at the new atrium and had a quick look around the new displays (you could spend a few days there) and the special exhibition on WWI art.

Then we headed to Covent Garden on the way to meet Bryan, so we had a mooch, looked at the tourists and sat in the garden of St Paul's church (out of the way of the tourists). I was messing about with the 'fisheye' setting (obviously the camera doesn't have a fisheye lens) and took this picture of the entrance to the formerSt Peter's Hospital, which overlooks the garden, and where my mum had her TB-riddled kidney removed in the 1950s (a very exciting family history walk, clearly, WDYTYA has nothing on us).

We met Bryan after work, had several nice drinks and a huge Korean meal and then caught a train to Gravesend where we observed the Thames from Bryan's sitting room.

Frankly I was knackered by then...
