The next door valley

Drop won into the valley next door to us and there is a beautiful donkey track that winds it way up the steep hillside alongside a gorge. For most of the way it is still in good condition and so the gradient is not too steep - although I am not sure that is what Tricia is saying in this photo - and the views are spectacular.
The more I enjoy the Ardeche scenery, the more I understand that it is man's imprint on it that gives it the detail to make it all the more beautiful. A bare hillside is nothing in comparison to one with an old stone path leading up it.
