Love on the Streets.

Wherever you live in Dublin today the Dublin City Marathon was on your doorstep. We were on the 14 mile mark and I was amazed at how many of the runners looked fit and happy at that stage. Not a bother on them. 14,000 runners, 4,000 of them from abroad, led by a world class elite. About 250,000 spectators having mighty fun. It was such a varied experience that I had to do a blipfolio to do it some kind of justice. Have a look.

This shot sums up the craic on the streets. Dubliners of every age were out to cheer on the participants. As always, there were many witty remarks, but always in a kind way. There were lots of dogs, and children, and grannies and granddads, and whatever you're having yourself.

The upside down Marathon route sign is interesting. The signs all seem to be right hand turns. Now, the Marathon runs counter clockwise around the city so most of the turns are left hand. So, did someone f**k up, or are they leftover signs from about four years ago when it used to run clockwise?
Have a look at it Large to get the atmosphere.
Here is a link to the title of a very elusive song.
