Mr Farouk

Meet Mr Farouk, security guard for the new up and coming Luxury Maadi (I wonder what the Arabic for oxymoron is) Apartments on Road 80. He keeps watch for vagabonds and ne'er-do-wells from 7am - 7pm, with nothing but his thoughts, his mobile and his cassette player for company. I was actually taking a picture of the sign on the building when I spotted him cooking his dinner on a small gas stove. He spotted me first though, and he struck his pose before I'd even taken the lens cap off.

There's something about the untold stories in the face of theses old Egyptian gentlemen that I find fascinating.

(And an extremely impressive 'tache doesn't hurt either.)
