Winding Down on the Malecon

We spent the better part of the afternoon lounging at the beach. The waves were strong and lively today on the Bahia de Banderas. After a few hours, a few Modelos, and one new ankle bracelet later, (beach vendors) we adjourned to the pool, and then after that, an early dinner.

Puerto Vallarta is a lively, bustling town, even late into the evening. Music, dancing, and outdoor singing is still going strong, even around 9pm on a Sunday, with loads of young children skipping about. There is a wonderfully, warm and friendly sense of community here. It's no wonder that Puerto Vallarta has been rated "The Friendliest City in the World" (Condé Nast, 2001). I wholeheartedly agree, and would add, it is also perhaps one of the safest.
