This is another piece on my inspiration wall. This art deco card was bought at The Art Institute of Chicago. One Friday around lunchtime two friends asked me to take a road trip with them from Boston to Chicago to help one of them move there. The catch was they were leaving NOW. I pondered for a few minutes and thought about the routine, boring weekend I had ahead of me and after going back and forth I said YES. We drove to my apartment so I could throw a few things in a bag and we got on the road. We drove on and off for 24 hours and finally arrived in Chicago. We had the rest of Saturday and all day Sunday to sight see. One of the places we visited was The Art Institute of Chicago, where I bought this card that I later framed. Then we were on a flight early Monday morning back to Boston and straight to work. This trip reminded me to take chances and be spontaneous. I tend to be most comfortable surrounded by what's familiar to me. Some of my best memories are when I've taken chances and risks and I need to remember to do this often.
