My first 'race'

After a night listening to bins rolling down the road and tree branches creaking outside, I drove south to Jedburgh. Last week I had entered the 10K running event and today was the day.

Fortunately the course followed the prevailing wind direction for the first half, but the second half was not a pleasant run into the teeth of the gale as they say. Nevertheless, I finished in a faster time than expected (sub 50min) so conclude the 'race' pace was working in my favour.

Now the proud owner of my first race medal even if its given to all finishers!
