The sloth
Only Little Dog’s right ear gives an indication of the wind speeds on the edge of Ingleborough today. Today, Liz and I had our out in the elements fix.
As we were nearing the steeper slopes, we met a couple having trouble coming down who told us to be careful as it was hands and knees on the top. We agreed if it was too blowy, we’d done Ingleborough enough times that we wouldn’t be daft especially with the dogs with us and one, one of Liz’s visitors.
We battened down the hatches and our cameras went away just in case. We were expecting it to be blowy which is why we’d chosen our route up as the wind was behind us all the way. We weren’t on hands and knees but we had no choice about the speed of the final ascent which was pretty rapid but we both had the giggles. We seemed to be airborne in the sitting down position going uphill which wasn’t the usual style, for either of us!
Liz went for an NHS check-up last week which was not linked to her cancer. She was told she was moderately inactive. This bothered her. With daily weight lifting of her disabled daughter, marching around dog walking most days and pretty regular hill walking (most of that still going on during radiotherapy), I think artificial intelligence failed.
I suppose we didn’t have to work too hard to get up hill today though. Maybe the computer knew that.
The Sloth. We laughed.
