Ride to Pai

We found a company that allows you to rent a motorbike from Chiang Mai and drop it off in Pai 24 hours later for only £3. They even transported your main luggage in a van for free.

By car it takes about 3 hours without stopping, so we allowed plenty of time to take in the sights by leaving at 10am. After we got off the motorway, the drive was great fun even with the numerous pot holes and alleged 762 bends and corners.

On the way we stopped off at Mork Fa waterfall and Pong Dueat hot springs. Then we had a steep climb up in to the hills with some gorgeous views before rolling back down to Pai at around 5pm.

I could happily ride around aimlessly every day in this part of the world.
