Architecture You Wouldn't Notice
Went to see Northern Soul at the local cinema* this evening. Coming out into the lobby I noticed these buttresses and bridges taking film goers across from the bar area into the screens. It struck me how pleasing the angles and curves were. How well they were lit. How they encourage visitors to linger.
All of this must have been thought out by the architects when they designed this modern cinema. And yet we pass through the building without noticing it.
By the way, Northern Soul was a really good film. Not brilliant but super cinematography and music. Gritty with some dark drug scenes. Worth seeing if it takes your fancy.
