Today's the day ....................... to be transported

We've just been to one of the best gigs I can ever remember.

We've spent a couple of hours in the company of Eddi Reader and her band - and she has completely transported us to the places, and people, who have had a strong influence on her and her song-writing through her life. We could picture the Glasgow tenement where she started life with her Mum and Dad and the many cousins, uncles, aunts, grandparents who made up the extended family. We've been to France and the Continent where she went busking as a young singer.

We've had a glimpse into the things which matter to her. She has made us roar with laughter at her description of funny things that have happened. And all the while, we have been able to listen to her exquisite voice and the expertise of her backing musicians.
