A day trip to the East Neuk. On our way we looked at a flat that's for sale in Aberdour on the grounds we might like to live there. It was great, but too many buts... So we can rule that one out and concentrate on the "build our own house" dream :)
When we made it to Elie, it was super blowy, so the big little one and I did an obligatory circuit of the beach before ducking into the Ship Inn and hogging the table by the fire. We met some lovely friends for lunch and I greedily ordered a fish platter for one which could have easily fed four but I still guzzled most of it and am still digesting 8 hours later with no need for tea.
When friends are holidaying close by, it is obligatory to check out the holiday digs. Saw this excellent squash collection in the UK's number one farm shop wot was on route to said holiday pad and successfully remortgaged the house in order to buy some cheese and meringues.
Good meringues. Nice potter round holiday cottage and gardens, complete with rope swings and tree climbing and then home to Strictly.
The girls love Strictly. They're rooting for Steve 'deadly 60' Backshall. I, frankly, couldn't give a flying f*ck, but am enjoying swooshy frocks and giddy small girls skipping on the carpet :)
