Pineheath House
I have often passed this rambling old house and wondered about it's past and the marvellous circular tower at the front.
It made the news about a year ago when the 40 room mansion was sold for several million.
Once it was the luxury home of Indian aristocrats Sir Dhunjibhoy and Lady Bomanji. The house has not been touched since Lady Bomanji died in 1986 and is caught in a time warp.
There are some fascinating photos of the interior here. I would love a chance to go around it myself but will have to make do with poking my camera lens through the fence.
Although it has a new owner, there is currently an ongoing debate about its future. Sadly, the building is deteriorating fast.
