Waiter, there's a gherkin in my city
A modernist concept towers over a traditional city street. We did a lot of walking today. London was incredibly busy and we took a fairly circuitous route in order to escape the masses. As usual, uncovered some fascinating nooks and crannies in the ever changing capital.
I'm listening to a fascinating series of lecturers on Audible about the history of London - never knew Soho was named after a hunting cry: "Soho! Soho!" Apparently it was an area reserved for foxhunting in the medieval era ...
