Canadays

Today was the day Bergen op Zoom had a special parade to celebrate it's been 70 years since the town was liberated during WWII by the allied forces of whom the main part were Canadian forces. Hence the name Canadays for this weekend's celebrations and commemorations. The people of "Keep them rolling" (the vintage war vehicles) and the people of Bergen op Zoom plus veterans and active soldiers paraded, dressed up like the people 70 years ago and will continue to commemorate this liberation and the sacrifices of the liberating forces tonight and tomorrow. Thank you, Canada, Poland, France, UK, USA and all the others including the resistance fighters. My own family nor DJ's family were liberated at that moment, but the liberating of the South was essential for the liberation of the rest of the Netherlands in May 1945. BTW, it's also my 600th consecutive Blip, onwards and upwards :-)
