Black Faces

It's Black History month during Oct here and I was taken to an exhibition at Rivington Place , Shoreditch with J and Ph. Then again with J and P.
'Autograph ABP presents Black Chronicles II, a new exhibition exploring black presences in 19th and early 20th-century Britain, through the prism of studio portraiture –'
The highlight of the exhibition -together with the display of over 100 cartes de visites and cabinet cards is the 'discovery of 30 portraits of members of 'The African Choir 'who toured Britain 1891-1893 .
If you love portraits and live near London do go and see these photos ( or look at the website ) .They are of an amazing quality .
I hope you enjoy looking at a small collection of postcards of the Black presence in Britain over 100 years ago .
