Snow in Summer

A snowy landscape against cold, dark skies fools the eye into thinking it can't be a frigid 97°F day while summer is still in full swing in central Arizona. Another infrared image, this one deep into the IR band, yields a landscape that's the polar (pun intended) opposite of reality.
