this photo may not be so relevant to today's photography class - but how could I resist?

we had three models to work with -- what a treat!

and our discussion was focused on how to show more of the person
behind the facade - questioning how to create a sense of intimacy -- this is especially challenging when working with professional models, who might not want to show you what's really
going on inside.

actually, same might be true when you are making portrait of people you know - they might not want to show you something beyond their usual self-presentation.
