WNC Nature Center
Having taken yesterday to rest up today we headed back out to visit more waterfalls.
Today we started by going to Triple Falls in DuPont State Forest where I practiced doing a silk effect photo. These falls are unique in the fact that you can actually walk out on the rocks in front of the falls. I’m sure after a heavy rain you can’t get as close as we were able to.
From these falls we took a very winding road back to Cascade Lake to another waterfall that R had read about that wasn’t in the guide books. It was not accessible for me, but R went down and got some pictures. I ate lunch in the car whilst he was getting his pictures.
After a quick stop at the Asheville Farmer’s Market we traveled to the Western North Carolina Nature Center. We had visited this wonderful Nature Center in the past and wanted to go again on this trip. This photo is a montage of some of the amazing animals they have at this facility.
Upper left is a Red Wolf; upper right is a white Gray Wolf; lower left is a Bobcat sleeping in his hammock (cute, right?!?); lower right is a cougar. Some of these were shot through a fence, so please forgive the fence lines in the Red Wolf shot.
By the time we were done here it was time for supper. We stopped at a TGI Friday’s in Asheville near the Biltmore Estate for dinner. And then it was back to the condo.
Another day done…….
