Masada Desert Fortress

Masada is a symbol of the ancient kingdom of Israel, its violent destruction and the last stand of Jewish patriots in the face of the Roman army, in 73 A.D. After a steep sunrise hike up the winding snake path is a majestic panorama of the Judaean Desert to the west and the Dead Sea to the east.
