Times Of My Life

Millie and Mum

Today I got cancelled for babysitting, so I booked the wee screechy car into a garage in Perth. I had to be there for 8am, and I thought that was a bit early to go and visit anyone, so after dropping it off I went for a wander.

I hardly ever go to the 'shops' anymore. I - like millions of others - now buy most of my food and clothes from Tesco, as it is conveniently open all hours, and on the way home.

So I had a wee potter about, window shopping, and when the shops actually opened after 9am, I treated myself to a new skirt, pair of jeans, and a big thick winter jumper. I wanted to get some new shoes too, but as I had shocking cramp in one of my feet, I didn't follow through on that.

I went to a baker and bought some Onion Bridies and Pineapple Tarts (yes, well balanced and healthy diet!) for lunch, and got the bus to Mum's, where we lunched together while waiting on the garage phoning to say my car was ready.

Mum's wee Westie, Millie, is a dear wee thing. I have been sworn to take her in the event of anything happening to Mum, but to be honest I wouldn't have let anyone else have her! She is such a cutie, and she and Rocky love each other. She loves to lie along the back of the sofa, looking out the window. If anything with wheels (bike, scooter, skateboard etc.) goes by, she jumps down, barks madly, and starts doing 'Roly-poly's' all around the living room!

With their lovely white hair and cute faces, she and my mother are very alike!

Garage phoned to say they couldn't find anything causing the screeching, except the brake-pads (or could have been brake disks) were 'very dry', so they applied some grease and charged me for an hours labour, and Bingo, me and Noddy the Note were on the road again.
