Survivors
The kids survived two late nights better than we did.
Finished clearing and shifting presents at 1:30 with more to do after a sleep. Raided the presents after a panicked text message that my niece had left a birthday present behind. Some became separated from their cards so we now have no idea who gave what for the first few presents. To be fair, some didn't have a label including a rather tasty looking Château Petit Val for which we now have no idea who to thank.
Then a comedy panic over losing the wedding certificate. K insisted he'd given it to me as he'd lost his last one. I remembered that bit but then I remembered nothing after that. A quick check on blip confirmed I didn't have it 5 minutes later but I couldn't remember giving it to anyone for safe keeping and insisted he had it. K still denied having it. I panicked while he slept. Then I sorted out the finances as still not sleeping. Over-exhausted by that point I guess. Of course, the next morning (or after 1 hours sleep in my case) we found it in his inside pocket. Saying nothing.
Trip up to the hotel to catch my family before they left.
Trip back to the evening venue to finish the clearing out.
Quick coffee.
Chucked some food in a box for K and dropped him at a 5 hour rehearsal.
Major league sorting and a trip to the tip for me.
Made it to the last hour of rehearsal.
Ate leftovers.
Decided against heading to the theatre to watch the 10x10 from the bar and watched a recording of Strictly instead.
Glamorous, this married lark.

(For the record, we loved, loved, loved the service and the meal. The evening had some cracking moments but got a tad stressy for both of us as we couldn't set it up in 2 hours, make sure it kept running, take it down AND make sure that we got around to speak to everyone. We were massively helped by our amazing friends. MASSIVELY. I think we just had too high expectations of ourselves and could have spent an entire evening with each table. As my Mam later pointed out. 1 minute with each guest would have taken you 2 hours, of course you felt like you were chasing your tails)
