It is Friday
Another thursday, another night of great jazz at Burgundy's and for me 4 years of sketching those who come and play jazz here. The style has changed quite a lot since the first one!
And it was Ted that encouraged me at those beginnings such a long time ago. He used to refer to me in his introductions, his anecdotes and his great comparing style as "Watercolour Will" or "our Toulouse Lautrec"!! And last night it was a such a great joy to see him back after his illness - not at the forefront as he used to be but bravely reconnecting with the world - we hope to see him next week again and of course it would be fantastic if we could help him in with his drums?
Last night it was the MB Quartet and this is Mervyn Bean on horn, the others being Peter Kassell on guitar, Steve Wildgoose on bass, and Mike Kidson on drums
