A Night Out
I've only just read the book, so was keen to see how the film compared and I wasn't disappointed, as is so often the case. A really good screenplay brought out most of the nuances of the book and the acting was excellent. One gruesome scene was definitely OTT and best left to your own imagination, but the rest was very good. Even my husband enjoyed it, although he did look at me sideways on the journey home:-)
We'd spent the afternoon shopping in Dundee. Well, I was shopping and he was hanging around looking bored, as most men do:-) He got chatting to an elderly lady who was incensed because she'd been asked to pay 5p for a plastic bag in M&S. She obviously hadn't heard about the introduction of this "tax" in Scotland, so he was able to assure her it wasn't the shop's fault as she was threatening never to set foot in it again! He left her smiling and laughing, so that was his good deed for the day:-)
