Fairy Glen
I think Poppy is quietly thinking about what a strange day it has been today.
No morning walk but instead a good romp round in the garden whilst I started on some badly needed pruning.
The pruning and the games in the garden were quickly aborted when I mistook my little finger for a twig and tried to prune it with the secateurs. You wouldn't believe the amount of blood contained in one little finger!
The first aid box contained 2 slings, 4 large crepe bandages, 1 gauze dressing, 2 packets of out of date lemsips, some safety pins BUT no plasters!
Eventually an almost empty packet of plasters was discovered in the mug cupboard, who on earth uses those tiny little round plasters that are always left after the useful sized ones are gone!
Finally a walk down the Fairy Glen but this too was aborted when I realised, after wondering what the dogs were finding so interesting and tasty on the path behind me, that I was leaving a trail of blood in my wake. The hastily applied 4 plasters and one bandage were not doing their job.
A trip to the surgery was necessary. Now, after one tetanus injection and a beautifully applied dressing, the dogs have finally been fed, ( I initially forgot them when we got back home!) and they are contentedly snoring in front of the fire. Well Bud is, Poppy never snores.
