Power Struggle

Today the power was switched off in order for the old poles and cables to be removed and replaced. Optimistically 9am to 4pm was the period for the street to be without electricity. However the deadline came and went as they struggled with how solidly the metal poles had been embedded. In the end the one outside our house had to be cut off just below ground level.

This is the early stage of men spelling each other hacking away at the path and scratching their heads as to the best approach. The group did remind me of the Bernard Cribbins 'Hole in the Ground' song!
