Thrunton Woods, a route march
I joined the U3A walking group today for the first time - need to get fit for the ski season. It was too fast for me with no time to catch breath, never mind take pictures. (This was the lunch stop, looking north-west to Cheviot which is in cloud). We covered 9 miles in 3.5 hours, yomping over bogs and scrambling up steep rocky and muddy paths - the early part was through the woods below from right to left, on the skyline, then the bog then up onto the ridge I took the picture from. Slithering down was equally steep and just as sore on the knees. I can't say I enjoyed it, but no doubt it would be good for me!
