Roots and shoots!

I went to empty out some seeds in the bird feeder that had started to shoot, but they didn’t budge. I was surprised to see a tight mat of roots when I turned the dish over.

The winds have dropped and it has been mild today, a big change from yesterday. The gales whipping through the branches of our neighbours enormous apple tree yesterday had me worried.

I’ve spent most of the day on the computer, booking train tickets for our Christmas trip to Devon, ordering a few goodies, sorting out emails and a general electronic “tidy up”.

I’m prepared for our trip to Worcester tomorrow and my evening committee meeting, so “all in all” a productive day :0)
